Smarter than the average Rat!

This morning I found Rattata playing my Leafgreen. He'd chosen Charmander as his starter, and caught five Rattata. He just beat Misty! That is one highly intelligent mouse!

A new beginning!

Sorry, no cheesy title today, too nervous. It's my first day at Uni. Rattata and Butterfree are with me, and so, weirdly, is Glaceon. I'm honoured he's taken to me so well, and I'm glad I could help protect eevee, but now he follows me everywhere. The concept of 'A blue dog might attract attention in acrowded place' seems to be lost on him. Ah well, here goes nothing!

The garden of Eden-project! Part 2

Hello! Sorry, I will AT LAST catch you up on the other part of the adventure at the Eden project.

So there we were, surrounded by weepinbell, unable to use proper fire attacks, glaceon weakened by the heat, and the chance that people might discover us at any time. It didn't look good.

Dodging a spray of acid, I looked around, thinking fast. I saw Rattata snarling up at them. He couldn't get close enough to attack without being in danger of acid wounds.
The weepinbell that charmander had hit was smoking, reeling backwards from the blow.
Glaceon howled softly, and looked to me, as if waiting.
'You're ok to fight?'
'cee!'
'and you want me to...'
'cee!'
'Alright then. Glaceon! Ice Beam!'
A blue beam, thinner than the one he used on the thugs, shot towards a weepinbell, forming a thickish layer of ice over it's mouth. It began to sink, flapping it's leaves trying to stay in the air. But it's mouth was now blocked.
'Rattata! Quick attack!'
He shot forwards, but the other bells were taking aim. Glancing at them, Rattata dodged off the path into the bark and chipping-strewn undergrowth. I saw him jab his nose downwards, but couldn't see why, until he burst back out, a large bit of impaled on his fangs, completely obscuring his face. He charged forwards, but missed. It was blocking his eyesight.
'to your left! Now forwards! Right, left, go!'
The bark was rapidly disintegrating, bit he got the hit in.
'charm, pichu!'
'pichu, pichu, piiiiiichu! Pichu, pichu, piiiiiiiiiiiichu!'
Everyone turned to look at pichu, as he began to march up and down, trip over his tail, and hold his paws together in front of him as his cheeks glowed, while smiling up at everyone. Then he grabbed a leaf and a piece of bark, sat down, and tried to balance the leaf on the vertical bark. When that fell down a few times, he put the leaf on the ground and hammered it with the bark, which broke. He began to cry, loudly, and animatedly.
Taking the chance, our pokémon made their moves.
After that the battle didn't last long. One weepinbell got too close to pichu, and was rewarded a hefty jab in the eye, which sent it reeling towards glaceon, who, too hot, fell on it. Charmander flame tailed another, and Rattata leapt inside the final bell, and, safe from harming the other plants, used flame wheel. Yup. In it's mouth. Ouch.

After that, we shifted them off the path into the foliage, and ran off before anyone found us near all the noise and commotion.
Getting back towards metapod, Ragnarok tapped me on the shoulder. 'Looks like one more poké came through.' A pidgeotto flew above us, looking around, as if scared. It saw metapod and sped towards it. Metapod began to flash rapidly, becoming more shiny and solid looking after each.
'Pod. Pod. Pod pod pod podpodpodpodpodpodpodpodpodpodpodpod. Poooooooooood!
Crunch!
'Huh. I guess it DID learn harden.'
Pidgeotto crashed to the floor, and Metapod glowed again, this time completely white, and grow wings.
'freeeeeeee!'
'well..............well done butterfree'
'butter, butterfree!'
So, that was about it. Rag asked me if I'd worked out how he got there, and my guess that Kirlia did it was right. He went home, I met up with my parents, introduced them to butterfree, and the rest of the holiday happened without incident.
Since then, back home, the four of us have had a couple of incidents with shard waves, but nothing special. A few level ups, I'll post some stats at some point.

There, done at last, back in the present.

Just a quick note, I'm starting Uni, so I'll have less time to chat with you lovely people. Don too. Details to follow. Bye for now!

The garden of Eden-project! part 1

Hey, sorry, I will at last catch you up on what happened on holiday.

So, a couple of days before the last post (Sorry, everything from holidays a bit out of order, I only did that one because I needed to say about telling my parents) we went to the Eden project. I highly recommend a trip to everyone, it's one of the most beautiful places ever! and so much fun!

Sorry, not here to advertise holiday destinations, I'll get on with the recap:

Well, Rattata, Caterpie and me were deciding which Biome to go to first (Mum and Dad, still a bit weird around the Pokémon, were wandering around separately, but we were going to meet up a bit later.) Caterpie was on my shoulder, and Rattata was darting around amongst the plants. Nobody really seemed to notice them, apart from one little girl, who pointed at Rattata as he shot out from under a bush and said 'Look! Mummy, that mouse's purple!' but her mum just sighed 'Of course it is dear.' and dragged her away looking tired.

Halfway through the tropical rainforest biome, my shoulder started tingling, and Rattata stopped abruptly, nose to the sky, looking around.
I put down my rucksack and opened it, retrieving my DS. Leaving it open, I stood up, flipping open the console. I pressed it's extra button, and it transformed into the DSDex.
'Uurgh, am I going to have ANY normal days now I've got this stupid shard?'

'Hey, we had several between creepy future visit and you leaving.'
I spun round. Ragnarok was walking towards me, grinning broadly, throwing and catching a pokéball in one hand and fishing one out of his pocket with the other.

'I.....! You?...! What! How?'

'I don't want to ruin the surprise. Kirlia said there was going to be another shard wave burst thing, and we wanted to know if Glaceon was with you, so I came to help. Don and Jonny are back at base.'
'Thanks. Glaceon? Nope, isn't he there?'
'Haven't seen him since you left. Thought he might have snuck along.'
'Hasn't been with me.'
Then three things happened. Caterpie leapt off my shoulder, fixing itself to a branch with string shot, and surrounding itself as it began to glow.
Rag released Charmander and Pichu, who looked around them in awe.
Glaceon staggered out from behind a tree, panting.
'Caterpie! Now?'
'Poooooooooooooood'
'Ha, Glaceon! Are you sure he wasn't with you.'
'I think I'd have noticed in the three days of holiday so far if a blue dog was following me.'
'Hmm, must've hitched a ride with me and...how I came.'
Glaceon was not enjoying the tropical climate. Now, I'm no fan of intense heat, but I can cope with the Biome. Being an ice type, Glaceon wasn't happy. Why did he come?
After some water, he was able to walk better and looked a bit happier. Being near a fork in the path, where it looped round and brought us back, we decided to leave metapod where he'd set up and pick him up on the way back.

A little way round the loop, a crowd of people came into view. We slowed down to let them get ahead, just as my shoulder started to glow. I braced myself as a wave of energy shot from the shard. Charmander sent a smokescreen across the path behind us to dissuade people from following us for a while, and Ragnarok caught my DSDex as it fell from my shaking hand.

'Phew, is it over? What's changed? what's come through?'
'Don't know. This thing says we're up to 4% though.'

'Weeeeeeeeep. pinbell weeep.'

'Ah.'

Three weepinbell were staring at us. They detached themselves from the tree they were on, it looked like they had been bell shaped flowers on it, and sprung to life when more pokémon universe came through.

'Not a problem! Charmander, Emb-'
'NO!'
'Huh?'
'We are surrounded by rainforest?'
'Oh, yeah. Time to try out our special move then. Flame tail!'
'Wow!'
Charmander jumped up, and, spinning suddenly, slammed a weepinbell in the face with his tail's flame. It recoiled, smoking, and shot acid at us. Diving to the side, I saw the others closing in. This wasn't going to be easy.

A warm reception to frosty information!

Hola! I am currently on holiday, and this has been my first chance to post, but an important event has happened that needs telling. Mum and Dad know. A few days after our horrific trip, I'm packing for holiday, and something occurs to me. What on EARTH am I going to do about Rattata and Caterpie? Oh, and glaceon made it clear he was coming too. Not sure why, he didn't go with Ragnarok to scout camp a few days ago, he seems to be trusting Don and Jonny with protection of the Eevee's in his absence, and is very attached to me. I'm honoured, really.
So, I told them everything. Well, not everything, like a mysterious letter from a stranger from another world who sent a shard from a Pokémon deity into my shoulder to help prevent a cataclysm of universal proportions, but the general 'Pokémon are now real, but the transition is causing problems which me and my friends help sort out, oh, and have you met the magical rat, caterpillar and dog that I've befriended' bit. After the standard shock, sitting down suddenly, staring at the pokémon thing, they were very interested, and after I'd taught the squint to see through the illusion (half the time, glaceon was just a normal dog, except to me) they seemed better about it. It's still very weird for them, and I don't think they'll be used to it anytime soon, but they've accepted it. I think I'll head off for now, but I had to write about this. I'll tell you about the Eden project later!

Bye for now!

A-Poké-lypse now! part 2

'Pichu!'
Ragnarok ran forwards, as if to tackle the shadowy Dusclops, shot straight through, and skidded to a stop.
'Urgh, that felt weird.'
Seeing the Dusclops advancing, he ran back through it, wincing, and scooped up Pichu, stumbling, but dodging the shadow ball that slammed into the pavement past his foot. 'Aaargh!' Pichu, in fright had let loose a small burst of electricity.
Dusclops floated towards us, shadow balls on each claw.
'Rattata, Bite!'
'Charmander, Ember!'
'Which of our moves is good?'
'Try Pursuit, it's Dark, so it should be effective.'
'Ok, Hitmonchan, Pursuit!'
Our three pokémon advanced, and I held up my DSDex to scan the Dusclops. It's silhouette appeared on the screen, but every single stat was '?????' It's name was listed as '??scl?p?'.
The screens changed, and the top one showed a healthbar named '??SCL?P?', and the bottom screen showed three, called 'Rattata', 'Charmander', and 'Hitmonchan'.
'Aha! Video game readings of mysterious origin people! I always wondered how these would work.'
Everyone kept flicking their eyes between the battle and the bars. Rattata had thrown himself at the shadowy creature, fangs bared, and been cast aside with ease. A well timed shadow ball blocked the ember, and flaming, caught Hitmonchan as he thrust a fist forwards.
The second shadow ball hit Charmander squarely in the chest. All three were on the ground, wincing and grazed. We looked at their healthbars. They were all in the red. The shadow's was still full.
'Leggit?'
'I would, yeah.'
With the other two returned to their Pokéballs, I scooped up Rattata and we fled. a building to our right was hit by blue energy, and repaired itself at super speed, before un-building itself and vanishing completely.

Rounding a corner, we saw future Don, racing past a triathlete battling hard with a man in a dark hood. He skidded to a stop by-no, surely not!
A pokémon, floating a few feet off the ground, holding up a building with psychic energy, and projecting a large forcefield around the area.
'Mewtwo! How you holding up?'
'I shall survive. I always survive. Evacuate the area, I do not know how long I-Aargh- can support my barrier. They will be through soon! How are the other areas?'
His arms shook a little, and Don, giving him a worried pat on the shoulder, set off up the road, calling back 'Groudon's doing what he can, but time keeps looping where he is, so his work keeps being reset. Kyogre' got a pretty calm area, but the Regi outposts are reporting chaos at an increasing level. I'm off to get the beasts.'

We exchanged incredulous looks as he carried on down the road, and just stood, mouthing 'Groudon? Regis? Beasts? Kyogre?'
'How many Legendaries do we know?' I whispered excitedly.
'You will-aargh!- grow to know many, and when the call comes to help fight the destruction of worlds-Aaah- we shall all join the cause without hesitation.'
Mewtwo revolved in the air, and looked at us all. Then he gasped and the building he was supporting slipped forwards a few inches.
'Can we help?'
'This building...must not fall. If too many tremors or large impacts...hit the ground-Aaargh!- then the third shall sense the disturbance, and join the fight. Two are bad enough, if he becomes involved-'
'Right, we'll do what we can.'
We all went to try and help hold up the building, but it kept sliding. Happiny, standing on Jonny's head, gave it a huge push, and it began to straighten. Kirlia lent it's psychic power to holding it up.
'Caterpie! String shot!'
Caterpie started to fill the cracks in the foundations with sticky goo, and the then tie sticking out bits of brickwork to others.
'Ember!'
Charmander welded metal together, and Hitmonchan pounded any falling rubble to dust. It was done.
'I thank you. Now my full attention may go on preventing the descent.'
'Uh, you're welcome.'
'I know that this was meant to be nothing more than a vision, and that you were angry to see yourselves, but I at least, am glad you were here. Now run, I shall try to sheild you enough to leave.'
We did as we were told. Kirlia was frantically trying to take us back, but at a cry from above, it looked up and paled. I looked for what had scared it. Ah.
The moon. It was falling. Three Dragonite, Moltres, a flock of Togetic, Lugia, and hundreds, thousands of Pidgey, pidgeotto, pidgeot, hoothoot, noctowl, starly, staravia, staraptor, taillow, and swellow were all desperately trying to hold it back, but it was falling, and heading straight for us.
As it's shadow fell over us, and huge swirling shapes of blue and pink began to take form in the sky, a man soared by overhead, black cape billowing out behind him, blond hair bright despite the closing darkness, riding a black metagross. Laughing, he flew on, and Mewtwo shot past us, calling out 'He knows! He comes, from his world, to rain havoc down on us all! We have failed!'
He gestured for us to go left, and yelled 'Only she can help you now! Quickly!'

Future me came into sight, glaring at the laughing man. I saw him hold out his arm, and a small purple streak leap from it, right at the man.

As we went left, we passed a woman sitting slumped against the wall, weeping, hugging a zigzagoon. It's eyes were closed, and it didn't seem to be breathing. It was bleeding too.
Coming out of the sidestreet, we saw a young boy, a camper, and his sentret disappear into sparks of light as they jumped up from a wall. We passed a row of graves, too recent to even have stones set for them, some only half dug. Future Don went past, this time with his Hitmonchan, fighting a swarm of shadowy figures.

We reached a courtyard, where I could hear a bell, ringing hard. There wasn't a bell tower. There was a group of people, supporting injured pokémon, clutching injuries of their own, and collapsing onto the cobbles, too weak to move. I saw a small, green, fairy like creature, dancing and making a ringing noise. Celebi turned to us, just as future me and Don backed into the courtyard. The laughing man followed, confident. His Metagross seemed to have lost, he was walking in, but the shadow creatures had us out numbered. 'Face it!' he cried, opening his arms wide, waving at the world around us. 'You have failed! They come, and you are all doomed. I shall escape to the other world, and make it my own! The shrapnel left when this is over will enable me to recreate this realm in the other one, and become it's master!'
The blue and pink shapes above solidified, and future me's right arm began to change. it turned white, and his hand became blockier, with big claws, as the shoulder disc grew, it's gem glowing.
Pointing his new claws upwards, he spoke to Rag and Don. 'Watch out down here. I've got to try and stop them before they appear fully. I'll get pinky, can you watch keep everyone safe?'
'We've got it covered.'
'Just don't get yourself killed.'
Future Jonny arrived, and seeing what was about to happen, nodded to his Blissey, who looked exhausted. 'Can you give him a boost?'
She went to future me, and threw him upwards, his claws glowing.
'Watch out!'
Future Don's warning came too late. The blue shape, learning forward, coming into focus, had launched a meteor shower. It struck future Ragnarok, burying him in an explosion of firey energy rocks. As the smoke cleared, I could hear future Don and Jonny giving cries of dismay, and the mysterious man cackled hysterically.
He was gone. There was nothing but a crater and dust.

Celebi came over to us, and we were all too shocked and distraught to be surprised or impressed at being so close to the time travelling wonder. All I managed was 'Please, get us the hell out of here.'

Everything went white, and we were back at the old shop, in the present, where everything was fine. We all sank down to sit on the floor, trancelike. It was a while before I noticed that Pichu was jumping up and down by one of the shelves at the back, straining for something. I got up to help him. All there was on that shelf were the spare Pokéballs. Pichu had seen them from across the room. I handed him one, puzzled, and he waddled over to Ragnarok, who seemed to be having a hard time taking anything in. Pichu, tugged hard at his shirt, hugged him, and put the ball in his hand. Pichu then poked it's button. It flipped open, and swallowed him up. it flashed a few times, then made it's faint 'dnng' noise. It then popped open, spitting Pichu back out. He smiled at Rag, and happily started hugging him again. Rag looked down.
'Oh. look. I've caught a pichu.'
he managed a faint smile.

A-Poké-lypse now! part 1

The little girl had reached the end the entrance to a sidestreet. A blissey emerged, and I heard someone yell 'Softboiled! Quickly!'. It was Jonny. He didn't look much older, but much the worse for wear. We couldn't be too far in the future, but clearly the world had been in chaos for a while.
Blissey started to glow, and as the egg in it's pouch shone white, Azurill's cries became less painful. Older Jonny handed Blissey a six-pack of big bottles of lemonade, and then began frantically spraying her with pink bottles (Hyper potions?). 'Now the others! Help everyone you can!'
Blissey began chugging lemonade for all she was worth, restoring her health as quickly as she gave it away, and the light from her egg intensified, sending healing beams out, back down the side road, to Azurill, and off down the street, striking other Pokémon that were emerging, backing towards us, or being helped along by desperate looking people. I recognized a ruin maniac, several bug catchers, hex maniacs, a rich boy, a group of aroma ladies, sobbing young trainers, a few people from college and school, all manner of Pokémon, and, flying above the crowd, providing cover from falling debris and blasts shooting by over head, a mighty, roaring Charizard, being ridden by slightly older Ragnarok. He shouted something down to a Garchomp leading the group up the road. It nodded and ran off, I have no idea where.

The shadow over us lifted, restoring a half-light to our surroundings, as there was a tremendous crashing sound, and the city shook. I turned to see a building turn to dust as something huge skidded down the street towards us. A huge green claw slid to a stop a little behind us, and as the dust settled, I saw the rest of the huge green dragon, lying still on the ground, scarred and roaring. Rayquaza's eyes weren't even swirls. They were closed. His roar gave way to a whining groan, and it's attempt to lift it's head ended as it collapsed. We just looked on, in shock, but I heard future Ragnarok swear loudly, and fluidly.'T! Tempest! Are you there? Don't tell me you actually went up there on him! T!!!'

There was a yell from above, and a speeding bolt of some kind plummeted towards us. More dust and rubble flew into the air, as a crater exploded in the street.
'Oh you idiot! Jumping off? What did you think would happen! You'd float gently back to earth? When Spoinks fly!'
I saw an older version of me get up, dust himself off, and examine a tattered remnant of sleeve, where there was now nothing but a hardened, rounded, white shoulder, with a small pink gem in it. 'Damn, this was my favourite shirt. Don't worry, I'm ok...mostly. We each have to make use of what we have available. In my case, a shoulder that can survive almost anything.'
He saw us. 'Oh God, I forgot, this is when we turn up. For pity's sake, get out of here you lot! Fat lot of help we'll be if you get killed! Go on, move!'
He turned back to future Rag 'How's Don doing?'
'Don't know, last I heard....'
As they carried on in urgent whispers, I looked at Kirlia. 'They...they can see us. We're covered in dust from this terrible place, and I just warned us not to get killed. Are you sure we're just projections LOOKING at the future?'
'It..it is possible..that interference at this end..from Dialga and Palkia...has caused us to appear here fully.'
We waited, on tenterhooks, as Kirlia closed it's eyes and concentrated. 'It is impossible to shut down the Future Sight from this location. Temporal and Spacial distortion have pulled us fully in.'
At this point we were forced to run, because a bolt of pink energy hit the building next to us, and it began to dissolve into little specks of pink light. A man nearby pulled out a Pokéball, and said 'Go! Scizor!' before being struck by a beam of blue light, and a strange roar was heard. Scizor leapt from his ball, only to be dragged back inside, and for the man to tuck his ball away again. He then brought it out once more, summoned Scizor, and watched as it escaped and returned to it's ball. This continued in a loop, and we were forced to leave him, and flee up a side road. Pichu, squirming in Rag's hands, leapt free and tore off, desperate to escape the chaos. We chased after, and found ourselves in what had been Market square. Pichu had stopped short, confronted by a Pokémon. It should have been a dusclops, but it was completely black, with wisps of black energy wafting from it. It had a shadow ball in it's claw, and it was closing in on Pichu, who gave out a cry of fear, and fell backwards, sparks flying from it's cheeks in terror.
