The sword and the stones! part 2

We had to leave everything where it was and run over to market square, but Glaceon had started packing stones into my bag. It wasn't as heavy as expected, so I grabbed it and rushed off to catch up with the others.
It was true. All the birds in the square had become Pokémon, and had started flapping around causing chaos, confused. Murkrows, Pidgeys, Taillows, Starlys, Natus, a Skarmory, and a Chatot.
'Great, Oddish is Grass, that's not good against flying......'
'Fighting isn't that great either, right?'
'Take the Murkrows, the dark should cancel out the flying and make your attacks normal. Butterfree, use confusion and avoid flying attacks, Rattata, protect the public while they evacuate the area, Glaceon, all the normal fliers you can get, Jonny, Onix would probably be good, Rag, can you and Charmeleon go for Skarmory?'
'On it!'
He ran off, and Jonny released Onix, before heading for the group of panicky market goers and helping them leave.
Sammy was looking at the flock of birds nervously. One Pokémon with a type disadvantage. Not the best position to be in.
'Poison everything. I'd say that was the best approach.'
'Right. Oddish, Poisonpowder!'
Oddish launched a cloud of purple spores upwards, straight into the faces of five birds. Blinded by the dust, they crashed into a wall, flickering with a purple glow.
As Sammy cheered I went in pursuit of Rattata, dodging an Ice beam and Rag directing all three of his Pokémon at once. Rattata was leaping at a Natu, scaring it away from a little girl. She bent down to pat Rattata and thank him, smiling, but squealed as he pounced at Natu, going in for another Bite attack. I saw a taillow and a starly sweeping in on him from behind, and batted them away with my arm, getting a couple of nasty pecks. There were a few people, being guided out by Jonny, who were looking around in confusion, and seemed to think the birds were still normal birds, and a lot of people were looking at Glaceon, wondering what was taking out so many birds, unable to see him at all.
Then things went downhill. Skarmory escaped Charmeleon to steel wing Onix, Oddish was hit by a speedy Spearow, the Chatot let out a yell that knocked back Pichu and Snover, Hitmonchan took one too many flying type moves, Rattata was flung onto a rooftop, Butterfree, who had benn using powders and confusion suffered a direct hit from three Starlys, Charmeleon was overwhelmed by psychic moves from Natus, and I only just caught Glaceon as five birds slamming into him threw him backwards. We were all separated, and as I backed towards my bag, I saw groups of birds homing in on each of us. The eevees were gathered together in a huddle, biting and snapping at their foes, except one, the first one we encountered, who was cowering in the middle of the group, not attacking. Then three of them looked at Glaceon. Who nodded, and then looked up at me.
'Glay! Glacee! Ceeeeon!'
'Attack? No....Cover?'
'Cee!'
I slowly lowered him to the ground, and then batted frantically at our captors as they went for him. More joined our lot, and I caught a glimpse of Happiny pulling little oranges, satsumas or something, from her pouch and creeping about, handing them out to our Pokémon.
Suddenly, the three eevees that had nodded broke free of group, running, and leapt into the air. Glaceon made three head jerk movements by my bag, and three stones flew from him. They were caught by three sets of teeth mid flight.
A burst of light filled the square.
Three eevees had jumped into the air. A Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon landed.

The sword and the stones! Part 1

The five of us all trained together at last, and loads happened!

First, I should explain about my Uni friend. She's called Sammy, and for Christmas I gave her an Oddish. Level 13, knows absorb, sweet scent, acid and poisonpowder.
So we all met up and I introduced Sammy to the rest of the group. She wanted to train Oddish with a proper battle, and Ragnarok wanted to give Pichu a proper battle, so they decided on a 1 v 1.
Oddish wandered forwards, looking round the base, excited for his first battle.
'Let's start with acid!'
With an excited cry, Oddish launched a blob of acid at Pichu.
'Dodge and use thunderwave!'
'Piiiiii!'
'Oooooooddddddddiii...'
This was a bad start for Oddish, as crackle of electricity rippled from it, and it stopped mid step, it's foot returning, very slowly, to the ground.
Rag grinned, and Sammy frowned. Then she looked determined, as Pichu ran forwards.
'Sweet scent!'
'Ooooddi!'
there was a pfffffffff noise, and then a beautiful smell filled the room. I found myself smiling, and leaning forwards to smell it better. Everyone in the room looked a bit sleepy, and Pichu had come to a halt and was sniffing at the air, looking happy.
'Woah.......ok, inside was a....bad idea....Oddish, quick, poisonthing....powder......'
'Butterfree, could you....with the flapping? ....and the smell?'
Butterfree looked a bit dazed, but flapped it's wings, and the air cleared. I shook my head, and looked up to see purple specks settling on Pichu, who seemed to wake up suddenly, glow purple, and looked a bit ill.
'No! Pichu, Sweet Kiss and Thundershock, quickly!'
'Piii? Piiii!'
Pichu focused, and launched a small ghostly angel and a bolt of energy. both hit, and Oddish reeled. Pichu ran forwards, as another flash of purple washed over him.
'Absorb!'
Oddish blinked, lunged with a long leaf from it's head....and smacked itself in the face.
'Noo! Try again, you can do it!'
This time the leaf made contact with Pichu, pushing him away, and as he stumbled, tiny balls of light shot from him and flowed into Oddish.
I couldn't get the weird feeling out of my head. The sweet scent was gone, so what was it? Then I noticed my DS on the table, where Rag had been using it earlier. It's recharge light was flashing purple. And it wasn't plugged in.
Glaceon saw too, and ran between Oddish and Pichu, calling out to get everyone's attention. I became aware that alot of the feeling was coming from my right shoulder, and I was trembling.
'Oh great. This feels like a big one.' I sighed, and as everyone turned to look at me, there was an explosion of purple light from my right side. Next thing I know, my head really hurts, and everyone's looking down at me.
'You alright?'
'Well, not a fan of the blacking out bit.....DS....what's DS say....'
Don handed it to me, and I sat up.
'Wow, big disturbance this time. Well Sammy, you wanted to come along on one of our 'Dimension collision clean ups' this is your chance. You guys will need to fix up Pichu and Oddish though, where my- ah, thanks Glaceon.'
Glaceon pulled my bag over, and I got out a peach, a cherry, and two bottles of water.
'Sorry, no persimmon's, but a quick trip into the ball should fix the confusion.'
As I stood up, my phone went off. 'Yeah?'
'Tempest? I know you're probably busy, so just when you can, but could you pop out to market square? Nothing big really, it's just that ALL THE BIRDS HAVE GONE CRAZY. GET OVER HERE!'
As my friend hung up, I felt my DS vibrate more violently.
'Rag, what was it you were doing on here before the battle?'
'Oh, just activating the 'some items' from the Action Replay. Getting stuff for working on Heartgold. Pichu wanted to see what Raichu's like on there, and-'
I held up a hand to stop him. I was pressing the button to change it into a DSDex, but it wasn't working. It was stuck. I pressed L and R. The Heartgold game glowed purple, and a landslide of small stones streamed out of it. We backed hurriedly out of the base to avoid being buried up to our knees. Glaceon's Brothers and Sisters crowded round us, and we checked everyone was alright. I picked up one of the stones that had slid out of the door, and looked at it. It was slightly pointed at the ends, and was translucent, with a bolt of lightning in it's middle, like a large, jagged marble.
'I was wondering how these would fit into our world, thought we'd need some eventually. Well played.'
'Ha, thanks, although, we may not need QUITE this many.'
'No. We'll pack them up later. Let's deal with these birds-'
I was stopped by a noise from a bulge in the air. Inside the shop, where I'd been standing, the air was bulging and warping. Then a beam of purple light broke free, and there was a strong wind blowing round us. The eevee's huddled together and Glaceon leapt between them and the light, as energy crackled in the space, and voices could be heard.
'IIIIAAAAA! Watch out on the left!'
'Oh god! Here they come!'
'If this is only a patrol, I'd hate to see the army!'
'En Gua-ah!'
'What?'
'My sword! Something swallowed up my sword!'
I ducked as a long, shining blade with a dazzling golden hilt flew from the rip in the air and embedded itself in the wall behind me. Then there was a long sound, as if from a horn, and a mighty roar. The rip seemed to bulge again, and there was high pitched, almost robotic laughter, a weird noise, a thin beam of light shot from the rip and narrowly missed Sammy, and then a shrill whirring sound. The rip bulged once more, and Happiny threw a fire stone at it. It vanished into the light, and Jonny grabbed Happiny, scooping her up into his arms. My shoulder tingled, and the tear closed.
'What. Was. That?!'
We still have no idea.

see amid the winters snow

Sorry it's been so long, but once it was sorted out there was christmas to enjoy.

We were soon attacked by the source of the trouble. A sneasel, that had clearly inherited Avalanche.
'Ok, Dark and Ice.....Ah! Don, get Hitmonchan to use Mach punch! Should be a times 4!'
'Err, ok. Hitmonchan, what he said.'
'Chaaaaan!'
'Rattata, flame wheel!'
'Ratatatatatatatataaaaaaaaaa'
'Every little helps I suppose. Onix, Rock tomb!'
'Oooooooooooooooooooor!'
Butterfree's strongest move at the time was psychic type, so he stayed back. In his Pokéball in fact. A couple more mach punches and flamewheels, and sneasel looked weak. He was really string! Took quite a few X4 attacks and kept standing! Until Glaceon tackled it to the floor that is. Just stood over it and growled. Leapt back from a fury swipes with a whimper, then pounced again. I grabbed an arm as it went to swipe again, and Glaceon seemed to smile. We were stuck there as long as it struggled though. Then there was a weird glow from the cave-in. A red glow, getting bigger and bigger, as if it was getting closer. Then there was a cracking sound of ice breaking apart, and loads of steam. Through I saw two silhouettes.
'Guess who's ember just got stronger!'
'Ragnarok!'
He walked out of the cloud of steam, a charmeleon at his side. 'He evolved to make it more powerful, to get us out.'
He hugged Charmeleon, and looked at us. 'Ah, culprit? Stand back.'
'We can't. He's fast.'
Sneasel lifted it's head to look at Rag and his Pokémon. Seeing this. Glaceon headbutted it. Sneasel's lay back looking dazed.
'That'll work. Be quick, we can't leave him for long.'
'Ember and Metal Claw, Charmeleon!'
'Chaaaaaaaaar, Char!'
He covered Sneasel in flames, and as they started to recede, plunged claws deep in it's chest. He didn't stab it, but it looked painful. Sneasel just lay there.
'Anyone want a sneasel?'
None of us did, so we left him. As we were walking away, I saw a figure in a long coat and wide brimmed hat watching us. He turned away and walked off as soon as he noticed me looking. Great. More mysteries. Ah well.

Christmas was good, most eventful being giving a friend from Uni a Pokémon for a present. She's always loved Pokémon, it turns out, so seemed like fun. There still aren't many around, but I found one I think she'll like. She's not so keen on the later generations, so it was a bit harder, but turns out I chose well. More on her later.

Oh, and if I haven't mentioned already, I've befriended a Porygon that's now living in my Mac. Haven't caught him yet, haven't really needed to.

Not a Winter Wonderland!

The snow is awesome, but it's getting a bit much. There's loads. It's causing some problems. There was an Avalanche yesterday, and now Rag's trapped. He was investigating a new cave that had appeared recently, and there was this roar and the entrance vanished in a wave of snow. We're trying all we can, but it froze, and we can't get through. Rattata's flame wheel dents it, but not enough, and Hitmonchan is punching away but he's not getting very far. He needs to train more. I just hope he's ok.....

Babies it's cold outside!

The babies in question are Pichu and Happiny. They aren't happy about how protective Jonny and Ragnarok are being. They want to play, but outside is nothing but frost and ice. Butterfree's not happy either. Ice is supereffective against both bug and flying. Rattata's coping well, but uses flamewheel quite a lot. Glaceon is of course living it, as is snover. This of course means a lot of ice pokémon have been coming through the waves. My lecturers have been fairly understanding, especially the one that Muk kidnapped. They let me run off whenever I have to, Poképals at my side.

That's all for now, just realised I hadn't done one of these for ages, so I thought I'd make sure you were still in the loop. Bye!

A few important updates.

Finally, I'm getting back to you on what's been going on. A lot, basically, so I'll give you some highlights and the important stuff.
Firstly,it's not just cambridge that's colliding. It's been spreading. I know there was the time at the Eden project, but I figured that was because that's where I (and therefore the shard) was, but no. The cracks between our universes have been spreading all over the country, and yesterday there was an emergency in france, so I'm guessing it'll be global soon.
Well, I suppose most importantly, we're up to 14%. As you can probably guess, it's become impossible to hide. Luckily, that's no longer an issue. I'll explain.
The three orbs above one of the universe keep quivering on the screen now. It's getting quite worrying. I've got a pretty good theory about them though.
Rattata and Charmander are now level 25. (Yep, he's still a charmander )
Hitmonchan has grown to level 20, and Don actually had a pretty good fight with a wild geodude that came through after a burst. He's really getting the hang of this. I'm so proud. :D
Happiny is blooming at level 10. Still very happy, very strong, and very protective. So cute.

Those are our main mons, the others are all doing well too. We have more monster friends now, too.

So, a couple of weeks ago, Joey arrived in our world. I'm sure you'll remember him, the little kid that won't shut up about his rattata. Now he's met mine. Three words. Flame. Wheel. Booyah.
Yeah he was rubbish. I could have sworn I heard someone mutter 'Pathetic' at the end of the alley and wander off, but I didn't see who. Sounds familiar somehow though.
Rag has a Snover now. last week, it got really cold, and we were in a grassy area, when a wave came on. As I staggered to my feet. I noticed Rag battling a snover that had come through. He caught it, and it's a happy and playful new member of the team. Don met someone at Uni, that said he was 'investigating strange occurrences' in the area. Don helped him out, and was given an egg for his efforts. It hasn't hatched yet.

Oh yeah, now, when any of us goes to a bed, ours, one in a bedstore, any bed at all, we can hear a really faint 'doo doo, doodoodoo' noise, and our pokés feel much better. Cool or what? Oh, and our little shop down the road has changed. Inside it's really flat looking, brightly coloured, and I'm pretty sure it's actually the other universe. Had to happen eventually. Stuff from the pokémon world has become realistic and part of this one, made sense that some of our world would become like that one.

Right, a big, important fight to tell you about. The most significant event so far.

We were at base. Another wave had just happened. Nothing seemed to have happened, so we were rushing outside to see if anything was happening there. I noticed as we ran that my shoulder felt stiff, and the shard area had got bigger. It was now slightly curved, shinier, and harder.
'T, you know we were doing well for keeping this a secret?'
'Yeah?'
'That's not really going to work anymore.'
I looked up. 'Ah.'
A huge flock of Spearow, and an enraged Onix. People were screaming and running around, panicking, and Onix was smashing up the cobbled street.
'Rattata, Butterfree, quickly! Get out here!'
'Charmander, Pichu, showtime!'
'Come on Happiny, there are people to protect!'
'Jonny, see if you can get everyone to safety!'
'On it!'
'Right, Rattata, ready for a flame wheel?'
'Ra!'
I threw him skywards, and he brought down a spearow with a well-aimed hit.
Pichu was launching a thundershock, but looked dizzy and toppled over, having struck two.
'Charmander, Metal claw!'
Charmander ran at Onix, claws shining, and jabbed as hard as he could. Onix let out a roar, and thrashed around, bringing down a lampost.
'Butterfree! Supersonic stringshot and stun spore go!'
'Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!'
Rag turned. 'Nice combination of moves.'
'I though only being able to remember four was silly. I doubt they can keep every move they can learn, but they're not stupid.'
Spearows were plummeting to the ground, and one narrowly missed Glaceon as he rushed out to help. A healthy spearow dived, but Ice beam sent him flying.
I looked to Ragnarok. 'You thinking what I'm thinking?'
'ICY WIND!!!'
Snover and Glaceon sent a double icy wind, covering the entire flock. five dodged, but the rest crashed to the floor, frozen solid. One of the remaining spearow fired a whirlwind in retaliation, and hit glaceon.
'Doesn't that force a retreat? Like that's going to work on a Pokémon without a...oh.'
Glaceon had gone red, and zapped into my bag. I pulled out on of my supposedly empty Pokéballs, to see it's button glowing. I tapped it, making the ball grow to normal size, and pointed it outwards. Glaceon came out, shaking his head free of the dizzying motion of the whirlwind.
'So....THAT'S where you decided to hide when we were camping? And how you got to the Eden project? You must trust me SO much!'
I hugged him, but he shrugged me off and glared at the remaining birds.
'I own Glaceon! Whoop!'
'Victory dance later! Fight now!' Rag was organizing Charmander and Snover's assault on Onix. Jonny was running back to us having made sure everyone got safely further up the street.
'Good Point. Rattata, Hyper fang, Butterfree Confusion, Glaceon Ice beam!'
Three birds fell, and Pichu got the last two with another thundershock, waddling over to the last and actually giving him a defiant kick and blowing a raspberry before running off to Rag.
I just had time to see Onix's tail sweep across Rag, Charmander, and Snover, sending them flying, before and reached me and hurled me into the air, causing me to land on a rooftop nearby. Rattata climbed up to me, and, winded and bruised, I saw Rag stumbling to his feet and backing away, as Snover sent another Razor leaf at Onix. Onix launched Rockslide. Everyone managed to dodge, except Happiny, who merely held out a tiny paw. The rock heading her stopped on contact, and she laughed. Then she used copycat. Onix's own move crashed onto him, and he roared as Jonny threw a Pokéball. Onix was caught, and Happiny went round offering everybody healing egg. It is a strange thing to have your giant butterfly deliver a piece of magical, pocket made egg that cures your bruises to you while you stand on a rooftop overlooking a partly demolished street. Welcome to my life. Then I saw the people from up the road all staring at us, and muttering. I realized Glaceon had joined me. A giant rock snake had just been seemingly vanushed by a boy with an egg monster, having fought a boy with a thundermouse, a dinosaur with a flaming tail, and a tiny walking mountain. Spearow littered the trashed road, and I was standing on a rooftop with a blue dog at my side, a purple mouse on my shoulder, and a giant butterfly hovering just behind me.
'Ah. The number of people that can see Pokémon may have gone up in the last couple of waves.'
'Ya think?'
This took some explaining.
